I was able to check in early at around 11.30am as the was ready. With going to a wedding straight away and knowing I'd be coming back drunk I really appreciated this. The staff were all really friendly which was lovely, although its Newcastle and northerners are known for being friendly. The breakfast was good too, and as I arrived the receptionist was happy to arrange a taxi for me and it was outside waiting by the time I'd got back down from putting my stuff in the room. So she didn't mess about. The room was great, I slept really well although I was very drunk. I was able to contact the hotel in advance when I had a few questions and they replied within a few hours so I was happy with that. I left 2 shirts in my room which they've been able to hold for me until I'm able to return, they didn't offer to post them but I'm not really bothered by that.

After a two day travel it was super pleasant to just walk over to the hotel, no more waiting for yet another transport. I was greater very friendly. All I wanted was a smooth and quick check in and to get into my room. And exactly that was what I got, including a warm cookie and multiple free drink choices in tge room. I was so surprised how this airport hotel is literally next to the airport, but I did not hear much of the airtraffic, all in all it was very quiet. It felt as if the Hotel management knew: their guests had a long journey in their bones, let's welcome them with all sorts of drinks and even more cookies in the room. Of course there is a restaurant etc as well. I had to move closet to the city after this hotel (into another Hilton), and must say, I preferred the airport hotel.

Excellent location for the airport. It allowed us to check in our luggage at the airport before having to do so next morning .On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by friendly receptionists and given a a nice tasty treat. We had a drink in the bar which was very welcoming with a warm fire to keep us warm and cosy. We ate in the restaurant where there was a varied choice of meals available. We found the room to be really lovely and the walk in shower was amazing. On check out it took seconds and we were in the airport minutes after leaving the hotel. We are travelling again in June and will definitely be booking a room again at the Doubletree hotel.

We love this hotel, it is in an excellent location (directly opposite the airport) and the rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Before our stay we contacted the hotel to request a runway view - we couldn’t have asked for a better room, great views and a really nice size! Staff at reception were lovely and really welcoming and helpful. We had dinner in the on-site Italian restaurant and our meals were excellent and very reasonably priced.

So nicely fitted out, great rooms. Lovely mezzanine bridge type thing. Beautiful shower room. Sparkly clean. Lovely hot chocolate in the rooms. Comfy bed and nice pillows. Staff lovely and warm welcome and helpful- gave us great directions to the metro and to the utilita arena. Cookie on arrival nice touch! Will stay again at any Hilton for sure our favourite hotels.
